The Founder

Shri Satya Pal Gupta

1943 – 1994

Born on April 6, 1943, Sh Satya Pal Gupta spent his childhood and schooling in Samba and graduated from GGM Science College Jammu during which period he was influenced by the thoughts of many socialistic leaders which influenced his ideology to serve the downtrodden people of Jammu and Kashmir besides bringing new ideas in educational sector.

“Even though Sh Satya Pal Gupta was eager to become a doctor to serve the poor people the destiny had something else in mind and took him to a path that helped him to serve more people than as a doctor and shape the future of the society by educating children in most modern style. Sh Gupta was an intellectual par excellence and took active part in poetic scene by writing poetry in Hindi, Dogri and English besides writing English Dramas’ alongwith his ambitious project of providing quality education to children. Sh Gupta established schools at various places of Jammu particularly in rural areas of Jammu to help poor and needy people to get good education. The private educational sector groomed and prospered under his leadership and was instrumental in bringing liberalization in private sector. He was a true socialist who believed in equality of all and welfare for all and was against using even his own caste so that people know a person by his deeds and not his caste.”
